INTRODUCTION

In the year 2012 the management of the College of Dunaújváros defined the introduction and the development of the online educational form as a strategical goal.
The project TÁMOP-4.1.1.C-12/1/KONV-2012-0003. won by the college in 2012 provided a very significant support to it. Cooperating with consortium partners a joint Online University was established. Under the leadership of the Szent István University in Győr, working together with the Alba Regia University Centre of the Óbuda University and the  Eszterházy Károly College we collectively created an online university under the name of Hungarian Online University (HunLine) – as the first in Hungary.

The aim of the joint project was to create the new kind of e-learning-based study programs the first time in the country and to bring them into country-wide and international use in the frames of university and sectorial information system cooperation. By the implementation of the program the institutions take measures towards the promotion of the life-long learning, they were going to be able to join the newly emerging online educational and service providing sector and to meet the requirements of the adult education.
